Helping you learn, heal and grow.
My services
Clients come to me for a variety of different reasons and treating issues. I often see clients who’ve struggled to connect with other psychologists or health professionals, or who’ve experienced judgemental or dismissive attitudes. I appreciate that sexual and body related issues arise from a complex interplay between your body and your mind. My therapy aims to bring your body and your mind into balance and alignment, so that you can better function and improve your sexual, mental and physical wellbeing. I use a range of different evidence-based approaches depending on what your goals and needs are.
I have supported clients who come to me with:
Negative self-perception and body image
Acute or chronic illness
Recovery from surgery, illness and/or physical limitations
Sexual and relationship health for both men and women, including sexual dysfunction, libido, relationship and intimacy issues
Reproductive health (pre/postnatal, menopause, andropause, pregnancy loss, abortion etc)
Recovery from negative relationship and sexual experiences
Recovery from PTSD and trauma (relational, sexual or job related)
Lack of sexual feeling or ‘numbness’
Sexuality and gender identity
General mental health issues
Support for significant life changes (or those supporting people going through changes)
Psychological Therapy
I provide evidence-based psychological therapy using modern approaches. This includes Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, attachment-based therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy.
Psychometric Assessments
I provide assessments for personal development as well as formal reports. Assessments are done either in-session or online with summary reports provided to you and/or your doctor or allied health professionals. Formal reports are charged in 15m increments. Assessment types include mental health diagnostics, personality measures, maladaptive schemas and informal diagnostics for things like ADHD and ASD. I do not provide formal diagnostic services for NDIS.
Sex, Reproductive & Relationship Therapy
I provide sex, reproductive and relational therapy for both individuals and couples. For couples you must attend for individual therapy first, and I primarily treat individuals. I have extensive experience treating sexual, body-related and reproductive issues using evidence-based and somatic approaches (embodiment counselling). I work with you to identify your current issues, concerns and challenges and develop practical solutions that you can implement into your day to day life for functional improvement.
Embodiment Counselling
Embodiment counselling, also known as somatic psychology, is about helping people to develop self-awareness of their body’s sensations, emotions, energies and physiological processes and how their body interacts with their mind. Embodiment literally means ‘in body’, so as a therapy it’s useful for helping physical body conditions by generating the awareness needed to resolve it. I use techniques such as mindfulness, breathwork, movement therapy, sensory awareness and body scan exercises. This body-oriented therapy uses techniques and holistic approaches to help you alleviate both physical and mental issues and improve your overall health and wellbeing. Recent research has also demonstrated that trauma memory can be stored at the cellular level through somatic memory and that the body retains information from past traumatic experiences. Embodiment counselling helps access and recover from these memories.
Psychosexual Education & Workshops
Psychoeducation is a key component of the work I do. This helps people understand the psychological, biological and contextual components that underpin the physical, mental and emotional experience.
I provide psychoeducation to individuals and couples in-session. I also provide sexual education workshops for adults, educators and children at workplaces and schools. These workshops provide people with a comprehensive understanding of male and female anatomy, pleasure, respectful relationships, consent and how to navigate modern relationships.
